After graduating from Poway High School (also known as the Titans!) in Southern California, Mr. Underhill attended Northern Arizona University and graduated with a degree in Business Administration. As an undergraduate student at NAU he discovered the game of rugby which led to a passion for travel and exploring cultures of the world. While he did not know it at the time, the game of rugby would eventually lead him towards a career in education.
When Mr.Underhill returned to San Diego he continued playing rugby for the Old Mission Beach Athletic Club (OMBAC) while deciding which career path to choose. Eventually he decided to follow in the footsteps of those closest to him and devoted his life to education and teaching. After a few years of teaching middle school social studies, Mr. Underhill attended National University to earn a Master's of Arts in Teaching with a Reading Specialization authorization. This is his 13th year as a teacher and his 4th at Twality Middle School.
In his free time, Mr. Underhill can be found with his wife, likely attending one of their daughters' sporting events or school functions. He also spends a lot of his time reading, training Jiu Jitsu, and wondering why all of the sports teams he cheers for are so terrible.
